This is a great pair of comfortable, basic, flat boots for ladies with athletic calves! I'm not a big person - 5'4", dress size 8, but I have thick calves. I ordered several pairs of boots before I found a pair of knee-high, comfortable black boots that weren't too snug on my legs. I am a size 9.5 and these were true to size with room to add an insole if necessary. I have planter fascitis and pre-arthritis at age 30 and NEED comfortable footwear that's still cute! I'll mostly wear these with dresses and leggings, but I can fit skinny jeans as well which is great. The styling is classic enough to wear with professional dresses, but durable and warm enough to brave winter in Wisconsin.Pros:Calves fit athletic legs!Soft, springy footbed (similar to other Clark's I've owned)Insoles can be removed to accommodate orthotics or other insolesLeather feels durable and so far cleans up nicely (I've worn them approximately every other day for the past two weeks, scuffs have all wiped off easily)Cons:Not a lot of arch support, but I was able to remove the insole and add my own; also enough room to just add a 3/4 length insole over the top of their insole
