These shoes helped me with plantar fasciitis .Disappointed, they’re nothing like the original shape ups - when I wore the original they helped relieve pain in feet and back. I think the new shape ups need more arch support and width.After four months of daily wear the rubber trim is splitting all over - the first pair of Shape ups I had years ago we’re in better shape after years of wearing. Don’t know why you changed, the original were great. The new design is cheaply made and not worth the money.Update: BE AWARE. Major problem with these comes to light. They have a air pillow like sole, that although feels amazing from the start, mine have now got a leak!! Right shoe has developed a leak and has a swish sound when walking. I could live with that but to have my right foot bottoming out on each step, causing a angle is not good. Haven't had these shoes 3 months! They still look like new, but leaking on the sides of the air pillow like soles have made them useless! Previously: Sizing runs a bit smaller, measure your foot use the size help, ordered a 1/2 size bigger to get the perfect fit. Comfortable from beginning. Could only wear Dr. Scholl's fitness walkers for years (rockers). They did away with these, been looking for a replacement and these are perfect! They are amazing, reduced my pain and alleviated stress of being on my feet all day on concrete floors. Lightweight, but seem to be good quality construction. Also noticed that laces are a bit short (laced up as they come) I took the shoestrings out of the top two holes to have enough to tie up. Only reason for 4 stars is I would have liked to had options for wide width sizes too.Have worn this style of Skechers since they were introduced. Probably have bought 8 pairs by now; still have the first pair. Have liked them over the years though, at the beginning, the company ascribed to the use of them some kind of "rear end" firming effects (or some such) that I realized were unfounded. Still, they were an excellent product then and still are. Newer models have same fit, more style options and lighter weight. They are great for urban walking; outstanding resilience/cushioning on pavement. Great for touring, museum visits, other accumulation of miles on unyielding surfaces.Only well-trained people with already - strong ankles should venture onto natural or otherwise uneven terrain. They simply raise your center of gravity enough that the wearer needs to be strong enough to balance well and to overcome tendency to "wobble." At 5'2," I welcome the slight 'elevation' provided by the thick under-foot design!Years ago, some woman asked me how I liked my shoes. "Fine," I said. She said she had some that she loved but added that she'd had to learn how to "walk all over again" and to pick her feet up when she got them. Refer to previous paragraph.It's going to be a long time till I look like a Vickies Secret model, but these shapers make it fun. Took about a 5 minute adjustment period used to the feeling of walking in these but after that it was like walking like you always do. I wore them all day the first day with no issues or rubbing, I must have chose the right size on the first shot sight unseen, Score for internet shopping. The next morning I definitly had some stiffness in my calves. I wore them again most of the day and without being doctor, I feel like there is something going on in the knee area. Is it my muscles responding to the wedge construction and making my knees stabilize and balance to compensate? Again, not a doctor or specialist but I like the my body is working harder than just normal sneakers or flip flops.One note, pay attention when going down the steps the first time, that is the only reason I lowered it to a four because it should not be a danger as long as you are aware before you buy and you pay attention. Enjoy!I love this shoe. I have plantar fasciitis and my feet hurt often after even just after 15 minutes of standing. These shoes were the only ones that supported the arch in my foot. The arch in this shoe is very high. It also works my calves when walking fast because of the way the sole is built. I had one pair I bought in 2010 and just recently ordered again this past Aug. of 2014 so they lasted me a long time too. They felt tight at first but if you loosen the shoes strings all the way from the front to the back it fixed that problem. I wear a 7.5 and they fit perfect once I loosened the strings. They dry fast also. I got mine wet and could feel a breeze through the fabric which I liked. I just wish they came in a white with no other colors, which is my only complaint. I have hard floors in my house which my feet don't like. I put these on just to walk to the kitchen because I can't find soft house shoes that don't slip off.I love Skechers Shape Ups and have worn them (various styles) when exercising for many years. I used to have problems with pain from heel spurs. I was prescribed orthotics over 20 years ago and since then, have always worn them while exercising. (I pull out the shoe liner that comes in the shoe, then place my orthotic inside.) The extremely thick sole on the Shape Ups, in conjunction with my orthotics, gives me pain-free exercise every time. I do not believe that Skechers makes Shape Ups anymore, but luckily I have been able to wear them non-stop for years because I have always been able to find them on Amazon. (Thank you, Amazon!) I would definitely recommend, especially to those who suffer from any type of heel discomfort.From reading other reviews I was aware that these trainers are bigger than expected. I usually take a size 6 (UK) so I ordered size 5 1/2 and they fit perfectly. They are very comfortable although my leg muscles ached a bit after wearing them all day - given they are designed to tone up muscles, that was no bad thing. Very pleased with my purchase and an added bonus was the second pair of laces in blue that allow you to change from the white laces as shown on the box. If you are looking for a pair of trainers that are both functional and stylish, I highly recommend theseI had these same trainers previously which lasted me a few years. They are great quality and look great. They will probably feel a bit strange to begin with when you walk on them as they are shape up trainers so they are shaped differently to normal trainers but it doesn't take long to get used to them. They are very comfortable to wear. Delivery was very quick too so all in all im very happy with my purchase. Thanks.Bought these to replace an older pair so knew they would fit. Good to be able to get half sizes. Love wearing these shoes and only wear "proper shoes" when absolutely neessary. Marvellous for walking in and hope that are as good for me as the manufactuers claim. Wouldn't hesitate to get more of the same as necessary. My older pair are over 3 years old and are beginning to look their age so wanted a smarter pair.Fit brilliantly, I got a size five and they're perfect. I've bought thigh-toning trainers before from the same company and think they're fantastic, these ones are no exception. They even came with a booklet and DVD on how to make the most of them, statistics, how they work and so on. My mother was also impressed and has asked for a pair for her birthday!Shoes are extremely comfortable and represent very good value for money.I try to take a walk every day and these shoes are excellent.During the summer I usually walk barefoot on the beach but with the weather about to change I will be getting the same effect in these shoes.Would highly recommend this product.
